MENA Newswire News Desk: Emirates is scheduled to receive its first of five Airbus A350 aircraft this October, marking a significant expansion in its fleet capabilities by the end of the year. Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer of Emirates Airline, Adel Alredha, announced the update at the Dubai AI and Web3 Festival. He highlighted that while no Boeing aircraft have been delivered this year, the focus remains on enhancing the airline’s service quality and modernizing its current fleet.

The retrofit program, which now encompasses 190 aircraft, is part of a larger $3 billion initiative aimed at upgrading Emirates’ operational fleet. Alredha detailed that this expansion was necessitated by prolonged delays in aircraft deliveries, a consequence of production cutbacks and workforce reductions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic severely impacted global aircraft manufacturers, disrupting supply chains and operational capacities.

Alredha explained that the high demand for air travel post-pandemic has overwhelmed the manufacturing sector’s ability to recover and meet new operational demands. He emphasized Emirates’ commitment to maintaining the highest standards of customer service, ensuring that the fleet expansion and modernization efforts proceed without compromising on quality or experience for passengers.
